Scarborough has away been a holiday town with the beach at its heart. Artists have flocked to the area for its beautiful scenery and outstanding light. With global warming, we may be one of the last to see the beach and be inspired by its views.
Extinction Rebellion Scarborough is looking for artists to help with a project to create a painting in the style of artists of yesteryear. This could be in the style of Grimshaw, Turner or anyone that has inspired you, the kick is to paint a view of the beach in 50 to 100 years in the future, with half a metre to a metre of sea-level rise. Would Scarborough be a holiday destination with no beach?
