Bringing Change & Support through the Arts.
Here at Scarborough Arts Foundation, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2018, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion for the variety of activities we’re involved in. Through all our endeavours, we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.
We support creatives to realise their dream and bring it to fruition. Support the local community, through education, affordable workshops and talks. Provide free education for under 18s and those in need.
One of our main projects is to provide affordable living and workspace for creatives. The ARTHOUSE will be the first in the line of collective living, where creatives are charged a flat fee to have living quarters, studio or workspace and the option to have meals provided for them.
Each site will have a business centre, workshops, studios, living quarters suitable for individual needs, as well as catering for those with families. This is a collective of ideas and shared projects. Aiming towards sustainable living, providing a community charging station for electric vehicles.
The Centre for Contemporary Arts
We are supporting a local community campaign to bring a major new contemporary art space to the Scarborough foreshore.
Scarborough Contemporary – an inclusive, welcoming arts space, including a sea view café and education centre - will work with leading national and international art collections and organisations to bring a rolling programme of contemporary visual and performance art to Scarborough, helping secure Scarborough’s future as an arts and cultural hub on the North East coast.
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for those in North Yorkshire. With access to resources, people can become empowered and widen their potential.
We will provide talks from leading members of the creative industries. Workshops from local artists and linking local art organisations to you.
